Here it comes, and there it went. We have arrived again at the last moments of our year. Always a fascinating phenomenon, how we organize time and how it influences our perception of reality and experience. What would we feel in a society that viewed time differently?

There can be years that feel rougher, that feel calmer, but it’s more likely that the year was full of all kinds of different moments. We tend to simplify our experiences, likely to aid in our understanding of incredibly complex networks of ideas. Our memories are also rather unreliable, which has always been a disturbing thing for me to accept.

I’d like to say that this year I’ve grown, that I have regrets but they will help me in ways I can’t fully understand from this vantage point. Even if it’s a coping mechanism I will hold on to it. I’m grateful that I had this time, that I’ve met all of you, that you’ve embraced me and allowed the vines of your life to tangle around my tree. That requires trust, patience, openness, kindness and a sense of wonder. You all bring that everywhere you go, it has only been an honor to be a part of the moments we have had together over the past year or however long we’ve been in each others lives.

As we close the year, remember to hold those you love tightly, either physically or mentally, and rejoice in all you’ve accomplished—you worked really hard to get here.

Community Update

I did it! I got (more) organized! It’s possible to change your habits and find some success, even a little goes a long way. I hope we will all reap the benefits this month of me (kind of) getting my shit together. There’s some really fun themes and games that I’m excited about for the month, and most importantly it’s nearly TWITCHMAS! I will be posting more about that event soon!
